Tara's Upcoming Concert
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember, whether being at the dinner table annoying my family or in a concert at school. Music has always been a passion of mine, and I knew it would play a significant role in my life. Ultimately, it’s what led me to college and to meeting my husband, Josh. Our combined interest and love for music has taken us to many places and to sing with a variety of people. From Steadman Theater at Mansfield University to Carnegie Hall in the Big Apple to overseas tours, that connection is something special that we share with each other. After college, when Josh moved back to the area, he was invited to sing with Vox Philia after working with the Berks Youth Chorus. About a year later, a job change brought me back home to sing with this special group of people.
Vox Philia is a chamber choir based in the Reading area. They are committed to giving back to the community by donating ticket proceeds to local organizations as well as being an opportunity for young singers in the city of Reading.
On Saturday, October 26th, we will be performing a free concert at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boyertown. Josh and I will be singing a duet from The Hope of Loving by Jake Runestad, specifically in the fifth movement titled “My Soul is a Candle.”
We’ve had the privilege of performing this duet before, and each time we are able to sing together it brings us closer. We hope to continue this musical journey for many years to come.
